All Public pools and spas must comply by 12/19/2008. Bel-Aqua is your home for VGB information and compliant products. All Main Drains and Suction Outlets must have compliant covers and all single drains must have an anti-entrapment system such as a Safety Vacuum Release System (SVRS).

Approved SVRS Systems must meet the ANSI/ASME A.112.19.17 standard for a safety vacuum release system. The SVRS listed on this page meet that standard. Please contact us at anytime if you have any questions.

Vac-Alert SVRS

Vac-Alert VA2000 SVRS reacts in less then a second to quickly release dangerous pump suction vacuum. A total mechanical, non-electric safety system, easy to install, adjust and test.

Two Models Available
VA2000S - for pumps suction lines, where the pump is installed below the water level.

VA2000L - for pump suction lines where the pump is installed above water level.

Commercial Applications with 3" or larger pipe diameter Vac-Alert recommends using the VA2000S even if the pump is installed above water level.

Hayward Stratum SVRS

Part# VR1000	The Hayward Stratum is a safety vacuum release system SVRS that monitors and measures pressure in suction lines in swimming pools and spas. It is designed to provide an additional layer of protection against body suction entrapment. Stratum VRS can be used in both residential and commercial pools and spas.

Stingl SR500 and SR500PS SVRS

The Stingl Model SR-500 is a Safety Vacuum Release System (SVRS) which works by monitoring the vacuum on the suction side of the pool or spa pump. When a blockage occurs in the main drain or skimmer a sudden rise in vacuum will cause the SR-500 to shut down pump operation and activate an audible alarm. The pump will remain off with the alarm sounding until manually reset.
SR500PS model is for a one pump pool/spa combo pump system.

A.O. Smith Guardian Motor with SVRS

A. O. Smith created Guardian® with eMod® electronics, which is listed to the ASME A112.19.17 SVRS standard for suction lift applications. The A. O. Smith Guardian is an electrical type SVRS, meaning it releases the entrapment victim by sensing the entrapment condition and shutting off the motor. A. O. Smith is very proud to offer this SVRS to our distribution pump customers.

• Safety: The Guardian device is completely integrated into the motor circuit. If it is turned off for any reason, the motor is turned off so there is no suction hazard. There are no external parts or connections to the plumbing or electrical system.
