NEC 680.26(C) EQUIPOTENTIAL BONDING GRID

The 2005 National Electric Code adopted section NEC 680.26(C) Equipotential Bonding Grid.

NEC 680.26(C) requires that all parts specified in 680.26(B) shall be connected to an equipotential bonding grid with solid copper conductor, insulated, covered. or bare, not smaller than 8 AWG or rigid metal conduit of brass or other identified corrosion-resistant metal conduit. Connection shall be made by exothermic welding or by listed pressure connectors suitable for the purpose and are of stainless steel, brass, copper, or copper alloy.

The equipotential common bonding grid shall extend under paved walking surfaces for 1 m (3 ft) horizontally beyond the inside walls of the pool.

Many states and local jurisdictions have adopted the 2005 NEC, please check with your local building department if you are required to meet NEC 680.26(C)

EquiBond Mat Kit - used underneath the paved surface 3' out from edge of pool. Everything included. Comes in two sizes:

Product # EB2100 - 2' x 100' Roll

Product # EB3100 - 3' x 100' Roll

Each roll comes with accessory kit and can be installed by one person. When building a Gunite Pool with a 12" Pool Beam, the 2' wide roll can be used. When the Pool Beam is less then 12" you must use the 3' wide roll to give you a minimum of 3' Bonding Grid as required in NEC 680.26(C)

1 JRD Rebar clamps (Each clamp is UL Listed for 2 # 8 Bond wires)

(13 for the 2') or (17 for the 3') #8 Split Bolts (to secure each side to the Rebar Clamp (2’ or 3’ roll)

16 Metal Stakes (Holds grid in Place so one person can roll it out)
